Teachers Guide

Below are the teachers who work for Kids Discover and their profile. I have the opportunity and privilege of working with the greatest group of teachers who are just as dedicated to the musical education of your child as I am. I know you will enjoy their company as well as their teaching skills.

Diana Acheson
BA(Mus), Grad Dip Ed
Mentor for Kindermusik International

Diana Acheson is the head teacher and owner of Kids Discover.
Diana has a Bachelor of Arts (Music) degree from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Childcare) from USQ. She has also begun her Masters degree in the area of Special Education.

Diana is a qualified Yamaha teacher, and a professionally certified Kindermusik educator. She was named one of the top 5 Kindermusik educators in Australia for 2002 and is one of 2 mentors, responsible for training all new Kindermusik teachers in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2003, she also was presented with the"Maestro in Outreach" award, at that time, one of 10 given in the world and the first time anyone from Australia has ever received one.
The Maestro in Outreach is awarded to Kindermusik educators who are recognised for the work they do with children with special needs and other underpriveldged children.

Also in 2003, she gained professional certification status in Kindermusik after fulfilling selective criteria in teaaching methods and ongoing professional development for teachers with 4 years minimum teaching experience. In 2004, Diana underwent training in Sound Therapy and is currently one of a handful of certified providers in Australia.

In late 2008, Diana was awarded "Maestro in Masterful Teaching", the highest award offered by Kindermusik and one of only 9 in the world.

Diana has dedicated her lifetime to work with childen. Her love and passion of music, children and the families she teaches makes her a valued asset in the area of early childhood.

I am so glad I discovered the Kindermusik program and am very excited to share my love and enjoyment of music with young children and their parents. I wish I learned this way as a child! There are so many good reasons for young children to take Kindermusik lessons and i believe that music and movement creates happy, successful children. i look forward to seeing you in class.

I have been a qualified Yoga and Pilates teacher working in the health industry for 12 years. I teach a variety of classes including Mums and Bubs Yoga and Pilates, pre and post-natal Yoga and Pilates and Kids Yoga as well as kids fitness programs and relaxation for children. I have a 16month old daughter Amy which has attended Kindermusik since she was a baby and my second baby is due in may. I look forward to sharing the wonderful benefits of Kindermusik with other families.
