Why Were the Parenting Workshops Developed?

Diana Acheson developed the child development workshops as part of Kids Discover in response to parents requesting them. Her work with teachers has taken her all around Australia, teaching them more about child development so they could implement that knowledge into their everyday teaching.

Although, in her Kindermusik classes, parents are taught about the brain research behind the activities, they were left wanting more information about their child and how they could help their child to learn more easily.

As a result, Diana has now brought this information down to a parent level, explaining complex issues in easy to understand terms. Parents are also given practical activities that they can use at home to stimulate their child's learning.

The workshops are interactive, with moments of learning while sitting, interactive activities on the floor and work shopping together in small groups to better understand the concepts. Diana believes that learning should be fun and that children learn more deeply when positively connected to an activity on an emotional level. That concept is also conveyed in her workshops for parents where they will learn in a fun, interactive and stimulating environment.
