Foballa. . . actually the golden age of hollywood was way before the sixties-- when the studios like Walt Disney, Warner Bro, paramount etc were running a kind of factory production of films. They used what was called a star system with studio signing money making stars as they do football players today. I believe the best times were early to mid thirties, before world war 2-- and beofre television became big in people's house after the war. But you can alway correct me.

Perhaps you can attach this issue to culture, for the benefits you might get from that ministry-- as Maina has said, the images we shoot and present speak about who we are, how we are, and perhaps what we should be. So go for it. You have my support all the way, including a signature if you needed to start a petition for the parliament tabling of the issue regarding our protection as artists. Good going! Wanjiru and Maina-- congrats. I'm a kenyan filmmaker myself-- did Gari Letu Manyanga last year-- and I agree with you that the issue of piracy must pushed hard. I'm glad that Wanjiru is Chair of KIFF-- at least that's what I understood when she presented herself at the festival last year. I think Wanjiru you can now push for a motion in parliament about this. george ngugi king'ara.
